So how far can you go with alien biology?

Is a 'super-facehugger' a good addition the the series or a bad plot device?

And what about those bizarre Aliens toys? I mean, bull alien (which I think makes an appearance in an early draft of ALIEN3)? Snake alien?

How far do you go before you lose credability?

What kind of new 'strains' would be acceptable or would they just turn it into a bad computer game (ALIEN: RESSURECTION)...?
